We have asked our very own Make up Artist Jenna Nicole Makeup to give us some tips of doing your own makeup on your big day.

  1. H2O

Water is so important for your skin. De-hydrated skin really shows when wearing makeup. Make sure you drink tons of water before your wedding day.

  1. Flawless Face

Prepping your skin is key. Use a cleanser, toner and moisturiser before you start. Always prime your skin and the eyelids before applying makeup. Choose a full coverage foundation suited to your skin type to ensure it lasts all day and do not forget to use concealer to cover blemishes and  dark circles. Lastly, set your foundation and concealer with a translucent powder. This sets the make up in place.

  1. Don’t Be Afraid

When makeup is done correctly it can enhance your beauty instead of hiding it. However, you do need to vamp up your makeup on your wedding day for it show in your photographs. Especially if you plan on having outside photographs in natural light. Try adding bronzer to your cheek bones and forehead areas to get the glowing sun – kissed look.

  1. Eye Eye

Whether you use strip lashes or individuals, lashes create more definition in the eyes. They really help to make the eyes pop and will make a huge difference to your photos.

  1. No Slugs Allowed

Brows can completely make or break a makeup look. they frame the face and complete the final look. Make sure you blend them to avoid looking to harsh and fake looking.

  1. Blend Blend Blend

Blending your makeup is crucial to the overall look. Harsh lines will show in any photos. With eyeshadows, build up the colour and blend until your wrists ache! Use a fluffy eyeshadow brush to blend to create a gradient look.
