Rachel Chapman & Jack Reynolds’ Wedding

From their first meeting on the dancefloor, to walking down the aisle in the Tudor elegance of Marygreen Manor, Rachel and Jack celebrated the most important day of their lives in the Autumn of last year.

“We first set eyes on each other dancing to Reach by S Club 7 in the middle of a crowded Jumping Jacks,” shares Rachel.

One day, after taking 2 hours to drop his parents off, Jack returned home to pop the question.

“We have never been one for big romantic gestures, but Jack’s proposal was something personal,” remembers the bride. “I have a present for you, he said, then he gave me some flowers, a basket of my favourite candles and then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I of course, said yes, but I also burst into tears. I was so happy!”

Here, Rachel tells us more about her special day…

Why Did You Choose Marygreen Manor?

Several reasons really. The history of the place with Henry VIII and all its historic detail; the price of the packages; the staff were amazing and really made us feel welcome and wanted; the food – we had a taste test before booking and it sealed the deal for us.

How Did You Choose Your Suppliers?

My dress came from House of Couture. A family member recommended them to me and I absolutely fell in love with my dress the moment I tried it on. I also got my tiara from there.

For my hair, Kelly was amazing. She was also recommended to me by a friend and she did plenty of trials based on pictures that I had sent her. Very reasonably priced too.

My bridesmaid dresses came through plenty of online research. I went to a lot of shops, but the prices were too high. When I went on the DIY Dresses website I found them to be very helpful. I could have a live chat with them and choose and change from a wide range of styles – all for a fantastic price.

We live locally to Lakeside, so it was a natural choice to visit Moss Bros for Jacks suits. They had exactly what he wanted and were reasonable on price.

Our flowers were by Kay who came as a recommendation. I gave her my ideas and she put together amazing flowers and centre pieces, I could not of asked for more perfect flowers.

Ryan was our photographer and we were really impressed with his company, they captured so many amazing shots and blended brilliantly with our friends and family.

I – Do productions were brilliant videographers, if I am honest we did not even realise they were there and the end result was amazing, we are so glad we had our wedding videoed.

Hayley’s Homemade Cakes were fabulous and her creations are made personal to you. I would recommend her to anyone.

My husband chose the engagement ring, Beaverbrooks Lakeside were really helpful and he definitely made the right choice.

What were the moments that you remember the most?

That moment I was laced up in my wedding dress, My Mum, sister and bridesmaids all there with me singing a song to stop us from crying (with happiness) and it was just amazing.

Wearing my wedding dress and seeing my Dad for the first time was a beautiful moment and one I will treasure forever, I still get emotional now thinking about how proud he looked.

And my husband to be standing there waiting for me….

The food, speeches, silly photos, props and dancing! The amount of love that was there on our day was so special.

Having a simple Polaroid camera was a great idea as it captured some lovely and silly moments with the props!

The Piano Guys version of Jurassic Park was mine and Jacks first dance, then leading into Reach for the stars so everyone could join in was a moment to never forget.

Another unforgettable moment for me and everyone there was dancing to You’ll Never Walk Alone with my Dad. It meant so much to have my friends and family sharing all of this and our day with us.

Do you have any advice or tips for future brides?

Definitely hire a videographer as having something to watch and look back on our day is priceless and we can not just remember but watch all the things that made our day so perfect.

I know you would have heard this before and a lot of people do say this but….take every part of your day in, try not to worry about the little details or if things are not quite as planned, no one else will know! Just enjoy your day as it goes by so quickly.

Make sure you take some time out to be together, just you two….everyone will want to talk to you but just take that moment to enjoy the fact you are now…. husband and wife.

Try not to compare yourself or your wedding to anyone else’s because what is perfect for you may not be for someone else and who cares as it’s your day!!

Would you do anything different?

If I am honest I am struggling to think of anything because my day was near on perfect. If anything maybe I would of just got married sooner but all the planning, worrying and making sure everything was perfect kind of goes out the window because at the end of the day….all you truly need is love.
